Banquet, Medal Finals
I have been riding horses for sixteen years and have been competing for thirteen years. I have experienced just about every level the show jumping pathway provides from trotting on a lunge line to competing in open classes at difficult venues. I recently turned professional and have been working at Belmont Training Stables with my mom, Cassie Belmont. I have been able to teach lessons, train horses, and manage a barn of 30 horses at home and shows.
What would you like to contribute as a NorCal board member?
I would like to offer a new perspective to the NorCal board as a young professional that was able to experience most of NorCals programs as a junior. Our barn has a young demographic and stays active on the show circuit which would allow me to offer current insight of what juniors think about NorCal’s efforts. The NorCal board has helped my career in an irreplaceable way and I would love the opportunity to reciprocate.
How do you think NorCal can best fulfill the needs of its membership?
NorCal can benefit its members through inclusive and extensive programs. Currently NorCal offers a wonderful spread of divisions at its shows with great incentives and year end prizes, I believe if we put a louder focus on these incentives we could see wider participation. I also think NorCal would see a greater rise in riders if the show selection was broadened, perhaps by offering a schooling show pathway we could see more participation through feeder programs into the show circuit.
